Sword and Plough

These days there are so many companies that are trying to make a difference while selling their product at the same time. Everyone has probably heard of "TOMS" which provides a pair of shoes to a child in need for each pair you buy or "FEED" the bag company that helps feed and educate poor and hungry children around the world. There is a new company out there that I am SO excited about. A friend from work told me about how they re-use and recycle military technologies and materials to make practical bags and other items. Their company motto is, "Repurposed for a Purpose". What an awesome idea!! Coming from a military family with a father in the Navy I love anything military related. I also think that most American's forget to honor our military and remember how hard they work to keep our country safe -- so what better way to do this than by getting a new accessory?!

Sword & PloughThe company was started by Emily and Betsy Nunez, who were born into an Army family. Boo, Go Navy Beat Army! Just kidding...kind of. Anyways, here is what Emily has to say about starting the company,

"I wanted to create something that would emotionally and physically touch civilians in their everyday lives and remind them, in a beautiful way, of the challenges our country and servicemen face."

I think what they are doing here is awesome and so do a lot of other people! They have been featured in several news articles and are creating a buzz around their products. So what are their actual products you ask?! Well take a look...
Signature Tote - My personal favorite!
Signature Urban Ruck
Signature Messenger Bag

The bags range in price from $219 for the Signature tote to $289 for the Urban Ruck. They are definitely pricey, but the quality is great. They are also made from military materials, so you know they will be able to handle the elements and will last forever. Now, I normally wouldn't be drawn to something like this...I am more of a Longchamp or preppy bag girl. However, I can't help but love the Signature Tote, and to know the story behind the company makes it even better! Check out more about their products and story on the official website here: http://www.swordandplough.com/

With my Dad having served in the Navy for 29 years and counting and a brother at the Naval Academy, you can see why I thought this company was so great. The only thing that would make it better is if they were in the Navy! We've been loving our Navy boys since the very beginning...

XoXo,
Southern Saving Grace
